Yes, if the container is being placed on a public street or sidewalk, the City of Boston requires a Street Occupancy Permit. This reserves a dedicated space (usually 40 feet) to ensure our delivery truck has room to operate. We recommend applying at least two weeks in advance via the Boston.gov permit portal to ensure your "No Parking" signs are delivered and posted 48 hours before your move.

In Boston, 70% of leases begin on September 1st, but many move-outs happen on August 31st. This creates a "gap" where you have nowhere to put your things for 24 hours. Inbox solves this by delivering your container in late August. We pick it up on the 31st, store it overnight at our secure facility, and deliver it to your new address on the 1st—saving you from the nightmare of triple-parking a rental truck.

Absolutely. Our delivery system has a much smaller footprint than a traditional 26-foot moving truck. If a standard passenger car can park there, we can usually place a container there. However, for extremely narrow "cow path" streets, we recommend calling us first so we can check the clearance for our delivery arm.
